About Live Weather & Air Quality Monitoring

Our weather service provides real-time weather updates and air quality monitoring for major Indian cities and locations worldwide. Get accurate temperature readings, humidity levels, wind speed data, and comprehensive air quality index (AQI) measurements to make informed decisions about outdoor activities and health precautions.

Weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo, which aggregates information from multiple weather stations and atmospheric models to provide highly accurate forecasts. The service updates every 15 minutes, ensuring you always have the most current weather information at your fingertips.

Understanding Air Quality Index (AQI)

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a standardized indicator of air pollution levels. It measures the concentration of harmful pollutants in the air, including PM2.5 (fine particulate matter), PM10 (coarse particulate matter), ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide. The AQI scale ranges from 0 to 500:

0-50: Good

Air quality is satisfactory, no health concerns

51-100: Moderate

Acceptable for most, sensitive groups may be affected

101-150: Unhealthy for Sensitive

Sensitive groups should limit outdoor exposure

151-200: Unhealthy

Everyone may experience health effects

201-300: Very Unhealthy

Health alert: everyone may be more seriously affected

301-500: Hazardous

Health warning of emergency conditions

Weather Metrics Explained

Temperature

Current temperature measured in degrees Celsius (°C). Our data is accurate within ±1°C and reflects real-time atmospheric conditions at the selected location.

Humidity

Relative humidity percentage indicates the amount of moisture in the air. Higher humidity (above 70%) can make temperatures feel warmer, while lower humidity (below 30%) can cause dry skin and respiratory discomfort.

Wind Speed

Wind speed measured in kilometers per hour (km/h). Wind affects how cold or warm the air feels (wind chill factor) and influences air quality by dispersing or concentrating pollutants.

PM2.5 & PM10

Particulate matter measurements in micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³). PM2.5 particles are especially dangerous as they can penetrate deep into lungs and enter the bloodstream. WHO guidelines recommend PM2.5 levels below 25 µg/m³ for 24-hour exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the weather data?

Our weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo, which aggregates data from multiple weather stations and models. Temperature accuracy is within ±1°C, humidity within ±5%, and wind speed within ±2 km/h. Current weather data is updated every 15 minutes, while the 10-day forecast is updated twice daily.

How far ahead does the forecast go?

We provide a 10-day extended weather forecast showing daily high and low temperatures, weather conditions, and precipitation probability. The forecast accuracy is highest for the first 3 days (about 90% accurate) and gradually decreases for days 7-10 (about 70% accurate).

What is Air Quality Index (AQI)?

Air Quality Index (AQI) is a measure of how polluted the air is. It ranges from 0-500, with lower values indicating better air quality. AQI considers pollutants like PM2.5, PM10, ozone, and other harmful particles. Values below 50 are considered good, while values above 300 are hazardous.

What are PM2.5 and PM10?

PM2.5 and PM10 are particulate matter measurements. PM2.5 refers to fine particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers (1/30th the width of a human hair), which can penetrate deep into lungs. PM10 refers to coarse particles smaller than 10 micrometers. Both are health concerns when levels are elevated.

How often is weather data updated?

Weather and air quality data is updated every 15 minutes from our weather API. You can manually refresh the data anytime by clicking the refresh button in the weather widget. The "Last updated" timestamp shows when data was last fetched.

Can I check weather for cities not in the list?

Yes! Use the search icon to search for any city worldwide. Our weather service supports global coverage through geocoding. Simply type the city name and click search to get current weather and air quality data for that location.

Is the weather service free to use?

Yes, our weather service is completely free with no limits. We use Open-Meteo's free weather API which requires no registration or API key. You can check weather for unlimited cities as many times as you want.

What should I do if AQI is unhealthy?

When AQI is above 150 (Unhealthy), limit outdoor activities, especially strenuous exercise. People with respiratory conditions, children, and elderly should stay indoors. Use air purifiers indoors and wear N95 masks if you must go outside. Monitor AQI levels regularly during pollution episodes.

About Our Data Sources
